The most southern inhabited island of the Vava’u group, Mouni is an idyllic, privately owned eco-resort, which uses sustainable methods to produce its electricity and collects and recycles rainwater to ensure they have minimal impact on the environment. This tropical retreat offers a little bit of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the perfect opportunity to discover some of Tonga’s most beautiful beaches and colourful coral reefs.

On a yacht charter to Mouni, snorkelling, swimming and diving are the main attractions. With reefs teaming with tropical fish and aquatic marine life there’s plenty to see. Huge schools of sardines linger in its shallow waters, displaying their shimmering scales amidst the turquoise waters, and tiny blue damsels dart in and out of the coral. Stretching the entire circumference of the island, the beach is pristine white-sand and the inner lush green vegetation provides a striking backdrop against the calm clear waters, creating the perfect setting for relaxing afternoon soaking up the sun.

The warm welcome of Tongan hospitality can be found at the islands Moby Dick Bar; a fantastic spot for the travelling yachtsman and their crew to soak up the ambience and the rum punches. The resorts restaurant is ideally located at the waters edge and offers local cuisine, Pacific Rim style with plenty of fresh seafood delicacies and local organically grown fruit and vegetables. Before dusk take another stroll along the beach and you might be lucky enough to see the Humpback Whales gliding majestically through the warm tranquil waters, or the Turtles coming in to nest at the islands shores.

Moorings are privately owned by the resort and permission will need to be given before arrival
