Caribbean and Bahamas

Sunsail has 5 Caribbean bases along the Windward and Leeward islands of the Caribbean. Enjoy an exciting mix of blue water sailing and line-of-sight sailing while  discovering deserted palm fringed bays amid welcoming waters. With picture perfect sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and a warm welcoming atmosphere; it won’t take long to slip into island time and unwind. Plan a vacation in either of these tropical destinations and you are sure to be rewarded with an unforgettable experience.

British Virgin Island

New for 2008, the Sunsail base in the British Virgin Islands has relocated to Wickhams Cay II Marina in Road Town. Still on the island of Tortola and still perfectly placed for you to discover the best parts of these famous islands, our new base offers more shore based facilities and is only 10 minutes walk, or 5 minutes dinghy from the capital of the BVI, Road Town. Easy island hops and year-round balmy temperatures make the BVI the perfect choice for a Caribbean sailing vacation. Even the most experienced yachtsmen return here year after year, hooked on this sailor’s paradise.


Abacos

Discover the stunning West Indies scenery and slip into island time as you hop among the Abacos archipelago. A favorite with sailors for many years; the sheltered sailing, sandy beaches and inviting waters make the Bahamas. Once you’ve sailed the Abacos you’ll understand why these islands off the coast of Florida are loved by sailors the world over.

San Martin

Soak up the colonial culture and european flair of this dual-nationality island amid flavors of France in Marigot, and lingering elements of Holland at Philipsburg. Embark on an exciting adventure over long, challenging distances or simply relax with short hops from one fantastic beach and snorkeling spot to the other.

Antigua

The two separate islands that make up the country of Antigua and Barbuda may be within a 30 mile easy reach of each other, but they are world’s apart when it comes to character and lifestyle. Antigua is a long-time favorite of sailors, where rum punch flows and the “jump up” parties last ‘til dawn. The untouched sister island of Barbuda with long sandy  beaches and wild birds is the place to get away from it all.

Guadeloupe

Life on this famous butterfly-shaped island revolves around the sea. Exceptional sailing is available whether you head south to the less developed island of Iles des Saintes, or further north for a more challenging journey around the islands of Antigua and Barbuda.


St. Vincent and The Grenadines

Enjoy exhilarating sailing in steady, warm winds through a chain of more than 30 islands of varying beauty and distinctive character. This spectacular cruising area offers line-of-sight sailing and wonderful beaches with excellent snorkeling in some of the most talked about places in the Caribbean such as the world-renowned Tobago Cays.


Mediterranean

With more Mediterranean hotspots than can be mentioned, Sunsail’s bases are perfectly placed for you to take advantage of the superb sailing choice offered. Cruise the coastlines of these beautiful countries and experience an exciting mix of line-of-sight sailing and open water challenges. Explore historical cities, ancient ruins, secluded bays, and bustling marinas and soak up the spectacular scenery. The Med is an area of delightful diversity but with one constant; wherever you go you will be greeted with the warmest of welcomes.


Greece
Ionian

With ideal winds and sailing conditions, the Ionian remains one of our most popular cruising areas. Between Corfu and Cephalonia, you will find perfect anchorages from quiet fishing villages with traditional tavernas to lively resorts with excellent nightlife. Choose short hops between beaches or opt for full-on sailing all day, every day. You have the entire  Ionian to play in.

Sporades

Amid the inviting waters off the east coast of Greece, you’ll find superb sailing with fresh winds in the Sporades. Our base at Milina on the mainland is ideally located for an exploration of the remote islands to the east and the beautiful Gulf of Volos to the west.

Peloponnese

Sunsail’s third Greek base brings you stunning sailing in the Peloponnese. Set sail from Epidavros and the Saronic Gulf is on your doorstep. Discover a mythological land dotted with ancient ruins, striking architecture, quaint waterside towns and rugged hillsides.

Croatia
Kremik

From our Kremik base you can head south towards the pine tree covered Islands of Brac, Hvar, and Korcula, or north into the Kornati archipelago – Kremik offers great access to both these cruising grounds. The whole area offers a huge amount of variety; discover deserted islands, beautiful bays, and bustling towns steeped in cultural heritage while enjoying perfect 10 to 20 knot conditions in a sailing haven.


Dubrovnik

Discover the dazzling Dubrovnik Riviera where a mild climate and the steady winds of the south make for an excellent sailing vacation. This majestic city has something for everyone from historic to hip, cultured to cool. Venture away from the mainland and explore one of the many stunning islands within easy reach.


Turkey
Bodrum peninsula

The sailing conditions are a delight in this vast cruising area taking in the best of Turkey as it is today and as it was hundreds of years ago. Ashore enjoy delicious, exotic cuisine, meet the friendly locals, explore ancient ruins and uncover hidden treasures in an Aladdin’s cave of bazaars selling spices, silver trinkets and ‘kilim ’carpets.

Lycian Coast

From our new base at Orhaniye or our established home in Gocek, cast off and explore the surrounding sights. Encompassing ancient ruins to designer shops, the Lycian Coast boasts an eclectic mix of culture and history. Whitsundays

Rated as one of the world’s most beautiful cruising grounds, the Whitsundays offer a blend of breathtaking natural landscapes, spectacular marine life, luxurious island resorts and an almost infi nite choice of anchorages. The cruising ground is located just outside the Great Barrier Reef, so take the chance to join one of the resorts’ tours and explore this amazing natural wonder.

Koh Samui

Our base in Koh Samui offers wonderful sailing in an exciting area from May to October. Make the most of the dry season in the Gulf of Thailand and enjoy what is rapidly becoming one of Thailand’s top vacation destinations.

Koh Chang

Based in the province of Trat, our Koh Chang base offers amazing sailing throughout the Koh Chang archipelago including Koh Chang National Park and 50 other spectacular islands.



Malaysia
Langkawi

Surrounded by a hundred or so small islands, the Langkawi cruising area offers an outstanding natural landscape with beautiful beaches, spectacular caves, lakes, limestone hills and amazing wildlife in lush, tropical jungles. Combine this with plenty of modern marinas and it becomes the perfect place to explore.
