Sunsail Yacht Racing

At Sunsail, we want everyone to enjoy their sailing as much as we do and there’s nothing like a day out on the water for blowing away the cobwebs. We offer a choice of casual cruising at various rallies and cruises during the year and for those with a competitive edge, why not join an exisiting regatta or, if you have enough people then make your own.

We are involved in regattas all year round and all over the world, and for 2011 have a brand new UK fleet of 42 matched F40 yachts at our base in Port Solent. The social side of regatta sailing is great fun wherever you choose to race.

  • Cowes Week

    Cowes Week is probably the most famous yacht racing event in the world, with over 1000 boats and 8000 competitors, and Sunsail can put you at the heart of the action. Our exclusive one-design class is already entered into Cowes Week for 2011 and we have yachts available for charter for a day or a week, guaranteeing you an exhilarating racing experience and great party scene.   • Medal Racing Programme

    From March to June and September to October 2012 a fleet of Sunsail F40s will be based at The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. Amateur medal racing doesn’t get any better than this!

  • Sunsail Racing Series

    Enjoy thrilling round the cans racing in the Solent onboard one of our identically matched fleet of Sunfast 37’s in the Sunsail Racing Series. Participants can enter into the Spring, Summer and Autumn series, providing an opportunity to increase your competitive mileage and improve your racing ability. Two races take place on the Saturday and two on the Sunday, with successful teams from each round qualifying for the Racing Series final.

  • Round the Island Race

    The Round the Island Race is an annual event and one of the most exhilarating and unique events on the sailing calendar, involving a circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight. This is an open regatta with around 1800 yachts and 12000 sailors, amateurs and professionals, participating. Sunsail’s matched fleet of brand new Sunsail F40 yachts is entered into its own class to provide you with the opportunity to participate in competitive match racing at its very best.
