If you've never sailed a cruising catamaran, here are the top reasons why you should charter a Sunsail cat for your next sailing vacation!

  1. Stability
Under way, a cruising catamaran pretty much sails level, compared to a 30 to 45 degree heel for the average monohull, so you enjoy a much more comfortable sail. Likewise at anchor a catamaran is less affected by rolling swells. Novices and less 'salty' folks will especially appreciate the stability and deck space during maneuvers. And the big advantage is you can leave your beer out while sailing
  2. Living Space
With two hulls and a connecting bridgedeck, your Sunsail catamaran is much roomier than a monohull of equivalent length. Your crew will appreciate the wide side decks, large cockpit with bimini for shade, and great headroom throughout, while the hangout area of choice for sunbathers and kids alike, will be the big trampoline upfront.
  3. Privacy
Onboard accommodations are spread out over a larger area compared to a monohull. Each corner of your Sunsail catamaran houses a large double cabin and head, separated from the main salon and galley by a short companionway, so when you want a time out, you can relax in peace!
  4. Shallow Draft
Cats typically have a much shallower draft than monohulls, so you can get in closer when visiting snorkeling areas and beaches, giving you many more anchoring options.
  5. Panoramic Views
Stand in the salon of your Sunsail catamaran and enjoy superb 360 degree views of the idyllic cruising grounds around you, thanks to the large windows and double doors out to the cockpit. For the 'galley captain', it's like going from an apartment to a mansion!
  6. Speed and maneuverability
Sunsail's modern production cats sail 20 to 30% faster than similar length monohulls, thanks to narrow waterline entry, less weight for their length and generous sail plans. With twin engines maneuvering is surprisingly easy; you can actually move a catamaran around its central axis.
